Media Servers also have the ability to distribute all of their stored media to up to five additional separate areas in your home to a Media Center Extender (MCE). This includes recorded HDTV programming. The most common MCE is the Xbox 360 video game console, although others are available. This capability is very demanding so the Media Server itself must be of the highest quality and performance. The high performance hardware of the Fluid Digital A2 has the power to deliver music, photos, and movies to multiple locations where there are Microsoft certified Media Center Extenders. Combine this with two built in HD CableCARD tuners and high storage capacity, and you get what we like to call the "Anything, Anywhere" machine.

The A2 is capable of next-generation, high definition Blu-ray support at resolutions of 1080p. In addition, the A2's Universal Video Decoder performs exquisite post-processing for a flawless high definition experience.

Digital Cable Card

Fluid Digital is a direct with Microsoft OEM and is among the select few companies authorized to manufacture Digital Cable media servers. With CableCARD support, Fluid Digital media servers are capable of receiving premium HD digital cable content, allowing you to watch and record your favorite TV shows and movies.

Unparalleled Storage

The A2 comes with three 500GB hard disk drives, configured for RAID 5 striping with parity, resulting in 1 TB of fast, secure storage. That equates to as much as 480 hours of high definition video storage. Should a hard drive fail in your A2, it needs merely to be replaced and the data will be restored without any data loss.

In order to accomplish this, Fluid Digital loaded the A2 with a quad-core Intel Core 2 Quad processor, 2 GB of DDR2 memory, and powerful, crystal clear graphics from ATI, sufficient for even the most demanding entertainment systems.

Media Extenders

Unlike your current DVR, the A2 allows you to record to one central location but distribute video to any other TV in the house over standard CAT 5 cable to Microsoft certified media extenders.
